Where East meets West – clothes & accessories

“I create clothes for women who do not follow trends but create their own fashion” explains Diane, the creative energy behind Diane Ferjane,  where classical bedouin energies are merged with sleek and trendy nuances… Fitted harem pants and long skirts with an edge ooze Arab vibes wrapped in Western couture.

The designer looks to Lebanese history and tradition for inspiration, in the aim of reintroducing the traditional Lebanese costume to the everyday wardrobe with her own east-meets-west approach.  The sherwal is a prevalent and practical garment among villagers and mountain people; The richer the wearer the wider is the sherwal and the more fullness it contains to pleat in at the waist.  Next to the sherwal the most distinguishing costume in the Levant is the headdress, which still persists to this day in a number of villages.

The heart of her collection is always the craftsmanship and the story that the garment tells; everything starts from her obsession for details and her love for tradition.  Some of the inspirations behind her collections are the old souks, an ode to Amchit, and Teta’s garden.
